CalAir Welcomes our new 2026 G7+ Cirrus SR20

It’s here! CalAir Aviation is excited to announce the arrival of our all-new 2026 Cirrus SR20 Carbon G7+, finished in a beautiful Maldives and Sterling color combo.

The new aircraft is the latest addition to our growing all-Cirrus fleet at Hawthorne Airport. Contact our team to be one of the first to train in or rent the all-new Cirrus SR20 G7+. We’re excited to give our CalAir clients the opportunity to experience one of the most advanced single-engine piston aircraft available today.

Meet the Cirrus SR20 G7+

The Cirrus G7+ is the latest generation of the Cirrus SR Series, which includes the SR20, SR22, and SR22T. It brings together advanced avionics, thoughtful automation, enhanced safety systems, and a more refined in-cabin experience.

Many of these advancements were inspired by technology developed for the Cirrus Vision Jet. The result is an aircraft that feels modern and approachable while providing pilots with the capabilities needed for real-world flight training, personal travel, and advanced aircraft operations.

For student pilots, experienced aviators, and passengers alike, the new SR20 G7+ represents a major step forward in personal aviation.

Cirrus Perspective Touch+ by Garmin

At the center of the Cirrus G7+ experience is the Perspective Touch+ flight deck by Garmin.

The cockpit features dual high-resolution displays and touchscreen controllers that allow pilots to interact with aircraft systems, flight plans, weather information, navigation, and communications more intuitively. Our aircraft’s 14-inch displays provide additional screen space and give pilots a clear view of important flight information.

Perspective Touch+ is designed to improve situational awareness and make information easier to access throughout each phase of flight. The system also introduces pilots to the type of integrated avionics and automation they are likely to encounter as they progress into more advanced aircraft.

For CalAir flight school students, training in this environment provides valuable experience with modern cockpit technology from the beginning of their aviation journey.

Safe Return Emergency Autoland

One of the most significant additions to the Cirrus SR Series G7+ is Safe Return Emergency Autoland.

The G7+ became the first single-engine piston aircraft to offer an FAA-approved autonomous emergency landing system. If the pilot becomes unable to continue flying, a passenger can activate Safe Return by pressing a dedicated button.

Once activated, Safe Return can:

  • Take control of the aircraft
  • Select an appropriate airport
  • Communicate with air traffic control
  • Navigate and land on a suitable runway
  • Bring the aircraft to a stop

Note: Safe Return does not replace proper pilot training, sound judgment, or emergency procedures. It provides an additional safety option during the rare situation in which a pilot is incapacitated and unable to safely operate the aircraft.

Experience the Cirrus SR20 G7+ at CalAir

CalAir Aviation is a Cirrus Certified Platinum Training Center and Los Angeles flight school based at Hawthorne Airport. We provide Private Pilot License training, instrument and advanced ratings, Cirrus transition training, recurrent instruction, and aircraft rentals exclusively in Cirrus aircraft. Adding the Cirrus SR20 G7+ to our fleet gives students an opportunity to train with the newest generation of Cirrus technology.

Student pilots can build a strong foundation in aircraft control, decision-making, avionics management, and Southern California airspace while learning in a modern training environment. Existing Cirrus pilots can also gain experience with the Perspective Touch+ flight deck, Safe Return Emergency Autoland, and the operational differences introduced with the G7+.
